March 3: I woke up around noon and hung out, working on my blog. I met up with Carrie in the evening for dinner at NY's Deli. We had some American food, which was a nice change, and caught up with each other. Afterwards, we went to Coco Park and met up with Nathan for drinks. We chatted until 10:30 and I got home around 11.

March 4: I got up in the afternoon, lesson planned, went grocery shopping and relaxed for the day.

The last few weeks have been somewhat more routine.

One day we met a friend of a friend for an afternoon tea in Kowloon. Another day Arik met up with a Vancouver law connection in Central. We also connected with a few people at the church we've been attending in Tung Chung. A few evenings we've spent with friends from Ivey.

... in Chinese, which resulted in much gesturing on our part and hers! John helped her hoist the heavier bags up to the highest shelf but it was very clear that this was not the first time she had done this! We were in the middle beds so we put our rucksacks at the ends of them and climbed up. The train left bang on time at 3:15pm and we were on our way to mainland China!

The trains in China are a very convenient and pretty comfortable way ...

The funniest part of the long afternoon of shopping came towards the end, when Dad finally found a pair of shoes he liked (dubbed "game-changers") to replace his worn out loafers. ... to see them at the airport after a long flight with a stop off in Dubai and an unexpected stop off in Bangkok! The weather was much kinder to H&J as autumn had started to kick in and warm sunshine mixed with cooler breezes made getting about much more manageable. I seemed to be busy with Jack's school commitments and school drop off and pick ups but Helen and Janet enjoyed getting out and about discovering Hong Kong's delights ...
