Start of our day in Hong Kong. We were up quite early (about 8:00) but both had a remarkably good sleep considering we had a New Zealand (5 hour ahead) body clock. Lovely breakfast and we set off. Unfortunately there was a lot of low level cloud (ie. skyscraper top leve) so the views to the river were restricted, but once we got to a lower level we could see much more. First off, taxi to the ferry port and a trip over to Kowloon. This is on mainland China ...

Though I couldn't contact my host, I could keep in touch with a friend and someone I hadn't met before but was living in HK, unfortunately not able to host. ... just a few metres away and Graeme, Daniel and I walked over to the ICC building (tallest in Hong Kong). The first 80 floors are offices and then the Ritz Carlton hotel whose lobby is on the 110th floor! Daniel took us to the Ozone Bar on the 118th floor for a nightcap and a look at Hong Kong by night. It was very clear and the view was magic! A great end to the day and evening. This morning we headed off to the Star Ferry for a bit of ...

    ... right on all counts.

As weird as it is on the outside, the actual room is fine. It is the smallest place we have lived in yet, but actually quite clean, quiet and well set up. We have a shower, running water, hot water on demand (just flip the "hot water" switch and wait 5 min), an AC unit should we need it, a window, a mini-fridge, a TV and a mirror! And lightbulbs that work! And internet! And clean sheets AND ...
