    ... then it was still in the distance. From the outside it is a massive menacing hulk of stone. There is nothing welcoming or inviting about it. It just intimidates, like some sort of Stalinist cathedral. Inside is no better. It is truly huge and cavernous in every dimension.     The morning broke reasonably fine although rain threatened. So we decided to go for a walk in Ulverston through the "lanes". It was pleasant but started to rain so we cut it short.     ... a local wine bar where we shared happy memories and enjoyed the being together. Tuesday, Maf organised for us all to catch the steam train and then a ferry on Lake Windermere.
