After breakfast Ruth and Bruce went canoeing along the lake with Peggy leading in her kayak. Said goodbye to our wonderful hosts Dave & Peggy and headed to Vernon, about 2 hours away. ... to cook itself on the power lines and consequently took out all the electricity for the hotel complex. The body was quickly claimed by a local and we were eventually switched back on after about an hour.

Tomorrow, our last day, we are going on a tour of the local vinyards! 5 visits with 4 or 5 wines to taste in each. Should be a good day! Hic. A wine crawl maybe.

... through a little town of Enderby which has numerous family-owned bakeries. I sure wish we could stop and buy some goodies!!! We are heading toward a town called Revelstoke. This entire valley has huge farms and nurseries. With the mountains next to the valley it looks like a painting. They grow a lot of fruit here, strawberries, raspberries, fruit trees, hay, wheat, and they are starting to grow a lot of grapes to make wine. This area is just spectacular. ...

... 120km long and in the summer hosts a number of water sports. The surounding area is mountainous and they have two ski resorts nearby. We spent the day at Big White which was easily the best snowboarding session I have had. The snow was 2.5m deep and powdery and there were so many fun and long runs to do.
