A week in Innsbruck

Our week in Innsbruck has come to an end and boy have we had a fantastic time here. We arrived Monday afternoon and flew over the snow-capped mountains to land in the centre of Innsbruck. Looking up at the alps when you're standing on the tar mac will never get old. It's just amazing.

... fived our instructor goodbye, took a group photo and headed inside for a drink.

Before we went home I decided to do one last ski down the mountain. As the movable strip had been turned off I walked up the hill, put my skis on at the top and then slide down. Apparently Dan had been inspired by efforts and had walked up the hill, put his skis on and come back down before I had a) noticed and b) managed to get my skis on haha.

2014 sees me once again celebrate Christmas in the cold and Christmas Eve as the big day. Unlike in Norway where the whole day was celebrated, it appeared that only the night time was a big occasion in Innsbruck with many of the shops still open till lunch time and people crusing around the town.

There are several places in the centre of Innsbruck that I would recommend visiting. There is the city tower which costs €3.5 entry and gives you an incredible view of the city and the surrounding mountains, however just to warn you the steps are quite steep!
