A bit of luxury for our last few days in C America

A travel blog entry by catndeano

Fri 11th May cont.

Once on the main road, the windows were shut and the air-con was put on as it's humid now we're off the cooler volcano. Two hours later and we arrived into the big bus terminal in the city, rang our host David to let him know we were coming and then caught a taxi to his apartment. The taxi driver was a bit useless as he …

Big modern city and little luxury

... all was very exciting as many passengers tried to take a photo through the windows of the rainy view of the canal and loads of ships in the harbour having come through the canal. We pulled in to the massive tranport terminal and mall combined and when we tried to get a taxi a line of them refused to use the zone sysytem and tried to charge us double and more of the fare to go 6 kms. We walked away and over the road away from the exit areas and found an honest guy who ...

... Casco Viejo which makes up old Panama. The waterfront has been recently renovated with parks and bike paths so it was full of locals out on a Saturday afternoon. The weather was nice and sunny. Casco Viejo is a neat neighbourhood with lots of colonial buildings and old churches. Apparently the government want to get rid of the residents so that they can modernize it and make it a tourist attraction so some of the old buildings have been mysteriously ...

... The Home Edition
I can't truly say that I have been homesick since I have been away, although I do miss my friends and family. I mean I am not giving MLK a run for his money in oratory skills, but I can represent myself as an educated adult. When my Spanish conversation literally translates to, "Where do I go to? I go to the store. I buy some ...

David is a lovely host and the appartment we stayed in was huge. The bed was very comfy and we had plenty of room for our stuff and the air-con worked well. The kitchen was well kitted out and the use of the laundry was a huge bonus. It was a great start of Airbnb experience
