... hills. What do people do for a living in such places, other than sell petrol? Up in the hills it became more interesting, with splashes of vegetative colour and dramatic geology, and after an hour or two we passed through a spectacular craggy pass and descended into a lush valley of vineyards. ... shoes were put on the feet of youth in need. Many of the youth in Crossroads do not have shoes at all, but we were able to provide hundreds of kids with suitable shoes and clothes for both basketball and soccer as well as street wear. We spent hours sorting shoes and clothes, matching sizes and uniforms, and the work finally paid off as I got to see the look on my teams face when they laced up their first pair of basketball sneakers. ... the classrooms and the teachers who move around. Here was another fantastic teacher, someone who is a joy to watch interact with the kids and it was obvious the kids really enjoyed her. This is one thing that makes being at this school so incredible is the amazing teachers who work here. They are all so dedicated and try so hard for their kids. I love it.
Tomorrow I am back in my classroom for good and looking forward to it!
