Thank goodness our next stay will be at a time resort where Gus can “spread out” and relax and not be in the confines of a van… although we will miss the van , it's sooo cozy!

... we headed back for the joint rolling competition and the comedy show. Both of the events were held at Nimbin Hall. First up was the Hemp Olympix. The rolling competition had a few categories, there was the "Artistic Roll", "Rolling In the Dark", "Speed Rolling" and "Adverse Rolling". All joints must contain a filter. We get into in Byron about 6pm so by then its pretty dark and we can't see a lot but luckily Aquarius (our hostel) run a courtesy bus service from the bus stop to the hostel so we jump from the coach into that- get settled into our dorm once we arrive find out you have to pay for wifi (gobsmacked) $25 for the week - not happening, and find ourselves in an 8 bed dorm with 6 (rather smelly and unsociable) boys but we chuck our stuff down and go and check out the bar and dinner area- as its ...

price tag ? Oh 35$, that's not exactly cheap. I haven't bought
any t-shirt since Asia where the max you usually pay is like 15$, no
brand of course. Let's check the next shop. 50$ for a t-shirt ?!
Naaaa... Next shop : 60$ for a t-shirt. Glurps... it's expensive
to be cool. It's a foggy mystery how people spending their time on a
surfboard and then in a hamac can spend 50$ on a t-shirt. ...
... coffee, we had a look around and discovered that the best thing to do was to sit by the river and order a couple of Beers, followed by dinner and then some more beer, oh and we watched the sunset which was pretty impressive.
