... the stag do and also spent a night at the Thai boxing which he said was a great night. Our Ryan & May's wedding was a fantastic day, the hotel was absolutely out of this world and the food was great. They'd put on a free bar too so we were a little tipsy to say the least! It was a really good mix of Thai and Western values and everybody had a great time. After a lovely 3 weeks catching up with the nearest and dearest and some more emotional goodbyes, our next stop is ...

... the day on Ko Larn. It is a 45 minute ferry ride from the coast of Pattaya. It's about 5 miles off the coast. You can see the island from the Pattaya or Jomtien beach. The island is about 2 1/2 miles long and 1 1/2 miles wide. There are about a thousand residents living on the island.

Once on the island you can do the usual water sporting activities if you want to, including para-sailing, snorkeling, jet skiing, or ride the banana boat or just plain swim. ...

... minute boat ride away called Pattaya Beach (you'd think they would name the beach along the city this instead of the island). We missed the last ferry ride that left at 3pm. This would have been the ideal ride as it cost only 60 baht for a round trip ($2 CDN). We walked back along the pier and notice speedboats were also available to take us to the island. Although more expensive (can't ...

Pattaya: Russians, Beaches, Birds, and Sunsets

... etc. Always people were kind and helpful. That is the best thing I love about Bangkok!

At Ekemai I bought a ticket to Pattaya on a first class bus; it cost 113 Baht, around $3.35 for a two and one half hour bus ride in a comfortable coach bus. Most of us on the bus dozed along the way; entering or leaving Bangkok can take hours because of the interminable traffic. There is no rush hour, as the whole day long is one big rush hour. You ...
