... and everyone was floating around waiting for it to start. The first island we checked out was Basswood Island. Nick took us over to the island and stopped the boat while pointing up at a tree. This was so cool - there was a bald eagle nest in one one the trees with a bald eagle perched on a branch next to it. I'm adding that check mark to my bucket list. After that, we went to see a sunken ship. There were two pieces of metal sticking up out of the water. It ...

... and got a scoop to sit out on the lawn to eat while we waited for the ferry to return. We both had a great day.

Friday, we started out for Marquette MI. Now, I need to tell you a little about our trip. Started out just like normal. We’re getting pretty good at getting the trailer tanks dumped and the inside ready to roll.

Now, Suzy and I love to do road trips and have taken our share ...

... Islands are now forested with no inhabitants except for 1, but come with a rich history of survivalists who tried to live thru the grueling 4-5 winter months. Several islands have sandy beaches at 250-500' high where the water level once was millions of years ago. The colorful caves make us wonder about their past.
