    ... Home
This new home-to-be will have a fixed toilet, something I did not have for over 5 years, a shower with boiler heated warm water (I did cold river baths for a loooooong time), a separate bed room (so no more turning living space into bed space anymore) and more space to move around. This morning the alarm went off and have to get up quickly as breakfast meant to finish at 9.30. There are big cues for breakfast, but it's massive.. Had the usual cooked breakfast, best hot chocolate, yoghurt with fruit and nuts, and Cam had pancakes made by a machine lol. Lots of people, but well organised with service. It was overcast to start and temperature felt like 18 degrees. We sussd the train system ...

... factory where Anne's father had made jams and the house with a secret annex where Anne, her family and a few others lived in hiding and where Anne wrote her famous diary. Since the homes of deported Jews were stripped of all their contents during the war, the rooms of the secret annex are now empty, and Anne's father, the only family member who survived, wanted them kept that way.

So, the museum was a strange affair, as you walked around a succession of empty rooms, ...
