Christmas Markets!
... made goodies like gingerbread houses for sale for Christmas that are gorgeous (my next project), handmade chocolates and biscuits. Every looks so dangerously delicious. The windows of our 4 story b&b have been decorated to look like an advent calender, which looks pretty cool if you ask me (we are no. 13). Bridge on the River Inn
... The efficiency of the transport system in Austria is quite remarkable, synchronised, punctual, and cheap. We opted for the Austrian buffet in the hotel for our final meal - deer stew with dumplings and cranberry sauce, breaded chicken and pork medallions with herby potatoes, lubricated with a large local bier. Forest thaw
... 3 miles uphill is no mean feat and all of us arrived at the mountain farm station in good spirits and not too clapped out. The descent could have proved to be more than challenging, pretty much direct downhill through the forest, but the forest cover meant there was no ice to worry us and the descent was easy. We reached the valley bottom, lakeside, after stunning alpine views all the way down.

Nordic Walking
... the golf course and valley bottom, back to the hotel. This turned out to be a jolly 2 hours' stroll, in the company of 3 other German/Austrians (?). I became the token English translator. My German was never my forté (!) and time and retirement have merely enhanced my amnesia. I picked up the gist of his instructions and passed them on in pidgeon Germanic English.
