We pass 5 days at Sandat Mas cottages and it was really nice. Quiet place with a swimmingpool and very clean rooms. It was a littlte bit expensive in comparison with the North of Bali (350'000 rps without A/C), but we enjoy staying there.

... stand and got an old 26 bottle of Absolut vodka that was filled with gas (that's how they sell it here). The little 2 year old girl of the lady selling the gas came running over to us will a funnel, through it in and then her mama poured the 26 bottle into the tank. Cost us a whopping $1 and that tank survived us a whole day of driving. I think it costs over $1 in fuel just to start my car at home!! So now we were fuelled up, and the map was in our trunk ...

... is in Bali with a couple of school teacher friends Sally and Angela, I had forgotten what schoolteacher talk was like, not having heard much since my wife and I parted ways, but it was nice to sit with women and just listen and they were lovely women. Maria Forde the well known Irish singer was there too as she is a long term friend of Catherines and her banter is always good to hear.

... my luck and went for it. It was super cheap to rent for the day, about £3 or thereabouts, and that got me a helmet too. After a very brief explanation, I was off. It was pretty straight forward and I just took my time, not letting anyone pressure me to go faster than I felt comfortable, equally I didn't want to go to slow and cause an accident. Once I got the hang of it, it was pretty fun but I never felt entirely safe the whole day. I just used ...

... And then I crashed and broke my arm. Just kidding. I was actually a super awesome driver. I even got as brave as to reach 40 km an hour, and wow, you should have seen my grin then. By the time we stopped at our first temple, both myself and my friend were super excited. We felt so awesome, and we high-fived like a couple of super cool kids. And, because we had left so early, we were the only ones at Goa Gajah Temple (elephant cave temple). ...

... Kuta is the most touristy and busy part of Bali, so we ate lots of nice food, went shopping, sun bathed on the beach and had lots of nice cocktails on the beach. I also had to go to the hospital to have my eye checked as it was still sore and I was worried there was sill contact lense in it. It felt like the ophthalmologist was squeezing my eye till it was about to burst and he charged me £57 in the process but he assured me there was nothing in my eye! After ...
