We pass 5 days at Sandat Mas cottages and it was really nice. Quiet place with a swimmingpool and very clean rooms. It was a littlte bit expensive in comparison with the North of Bali (350'000 rps without A/C), but we enjoy staying there.

The previous night we were sat watching TV when the signal started to drop out, then a car alarm outside the hotel started to sound, and before long the bed started to shake too. It turned out it was the tremors of an earthquake. Albeit a minor one, but it was still a another first for the trip!

... when you are paddling in, you will be swept right past the exit and have to swim all the way around to try again. I was very grateful to have made it back (and very tired!). Andy did not see me go in, so he was not sure where I was. He spent some time sitting out there and looking to try to see me, but was unable to. He was a bit worried, but ended up concluding that I was either A) safely in the mouth of the cavern or B) already dead. Either way, he couldn't do ...

Landing back in Denpasar we caught a cab to the nearest shopping mall to pick up a few essentials and grab a quick bite to eat. It proved to be not only a wasted journey with nothing purchased but for me a huge annoyance as I picked up a bug from the suspicious looking burger. I had escaped the Delhi Belly in India but was to experience the full weight of the Bali Belly. Although not unwell so that i was unable ...

... our scheduled departure, we hit the sky, which meant that I should have more than enough time to check in for my connecting flight and less time spent in China :) No dramas transferring between flights, but once again the China Eastern flight to Seoul was delayed with no announcement of when it would take off. I took a stroll up to the cafe near the departure gate and within the space of the ten minutes I was there and ...

... hands on. Nat, I and the hundreds of others there had to wear purple sarongs with a yellow tie around our waists which, apart from being incredibly hot, wasn’t Nat’s cup of tea. And the Kepac dancing was very hard to sit through for the hour and a half. It really was very very bad and even though we didn’t get up and leave like many others, we were very tempted. From there I thought a seafood bbq on the beach would ...
