... t even being SHY, they were being downright rude. A smile or any kind of warmth from any of these people would have been encouraging but I didn't even receive a smile in return for my own. I got the impression this hostel was aimed at people who'd maybe had enough of socialising and just wanted a time-out for a few days. That's fair enough, but in Byron Bay? ... pack of dolphins! I immediately regretted not bringing my camera so walked back to Tom then we both walked back a bit later but the dolphins had obviously gone! The sea had been quite rough by the hostel so it was hard to have a swim but further up it was more calm and relaxing. ... recovering by having surf lesson! Wasn't as good as the one in Sydney as the waves weren't as good but it was still good fun even though I was sooo tired! Then headed further north to Brisbane where I met up with Hayley and Philippa again and we did a little Moreton Bay coastal drive and headed to Redbridge (I think) for some lunch! ... a night on his own. Well deserved.

In the morning we are taken on the lighthouse walk taking in the most easterly point of Australia. J & J maybe in their 60’s but we cant keep up with them. They are amazing, fit and healthy, happily putting us to shame as they do the climb. Note to self, loose weight, get fit and grow younger, now!

So we arrived and managed to find the arts factory hostel we were booked in for the night. Was a cool hostel but a bit to hippy for us. We decided to meet the guys out in town at cheeky monkies for a few beers. Was a good night but to top the night out we thought we were bad dancers but **** me the northern lads were so ***** we were in hysterics!!
