... to the monastery of Thari to see its striking 11th century murals, then noodled back to Lindos through pine woods that have recovered nicely from a major fire in 1986.
Today we had a long lunch at our favorite Lindos restaurant, Mavrikos, with Mary and her German friend Uwe. Walked up to the Acropolis, but it had close early with winter hours. Back to the Museum to visit, putter, and pack.

Mary, Shelley & Dan arrived in Lindos Friday afternoon and settled into Mary's beautiful home, aka The Museum. After a slow morning regrouping from our road trip, we headed to the main beach, which is paved with sun beds all summer but comparatively deserted now. Settling into Rosanna's Italian beach taverna, we ordered, had a swim, ate a delicious lunch of seafood risotto and fresh fish, and swam again. The aquamarine sea was clear and warm. Just too dolce for words. ...
We enjoyed some lovely local wine and seafood before we returned to our hotel by taxi. Now everyone else is swimming or napping while I write this blog.
Tonight we dine with our group at 8 pm and tomorrow we will return via ferry to Turkey to continue our adventures. I promise to write more in the next few days.

We were given an hour, which was the right time. We made our way up the 250 or so steps to the Acropolis trying not to stop too often for photos as we knew the view would be even better from the top. There was an option of donkeys, which Ailsa and Pete took up.

... narrowing port, right in the centre of town, towering above the boats and buildings edging the shoreline. We disembarked and walked around the main street enjoying the scenery, checking out some of the souvenir shops, and enjoyed watching Greek dancing outside a restaurant.
