... willing to help me. It was a little old Russian speaking lady. She was so nice, and we managed to get things done with minimal conversation. She was very helpful and it wasn't until the end of the procedure that she asked me in Russian if I spoke Russian. I was like "yes, a little." We both just laughed and I went on my way. It was quite an experience, but I managed to get it done and I should get my residence card in 10 days or so. I'm just glad it's over. ...

... After I got everything unpacked I contacted my tutor right away and we agreed to meet and go shop for a few hygiene items I needed. It was snowing when she arrived to the dorm. We walked about a half a mile to part of the town. It was a long cold walk. We waited for about 10 mins at the bus stop for a free bus to arrive to pick up up to take us to the store. My eyes glazed over as I stared in wonder at the elaborate food before us all. China plates lined the table stuffed with the traditional American Easter spread: ham, mashed potatoes, sweet baked carrots, which I normally don't like but tasted like pure heaven at the time, gravy, bread and fresh fruit for dessert, along with brownies from Michah.
