... made rush hour in town look like a quiet country road in the lakes. And a combination of a language barrier, buses stopping in random places along the road, mistaking traffic signs for bus stops, and finally being on the wrong side of the road resulted in it taking over an hour before we were finally sat on the correct bus to Koh San road (which only cost 15p for both of us!). We were glad to have already booked a hotel as it had been a very long 24 ...

On Sunday it was time to leave Bangkok and we took a local bus to the town of Pak Chong (or Pak Choi as Nicola liked to call it) which is next to the Koh Yai National Park (Thailand's oldest national park). I went to bed looking forward to the next days exploration of the many Wats of Ayutthaya.

Awake earlier - heavy rain so music outside stopped. Breakfast then taxi to the airport for our Eva Air flight to LHR. Twelve hour flight during which I was unable to sleep at all - watched three films and two and a half episodes of the latest Sherlock ...
