The bus came half an hour later, and it was small and packed but I thought, it's ok, it's just taking us to the boat. So I sat patiently and put up with it. Our final reason to visit Chengdu was to see the wonderful Scottish Mark, a friend we met in North Korea who resides in Chengdu. On a night out with Mark he secured us rights to bring our own booze into a bar after complaining about the bars own prices. Thirty pence beers from the local off license to ...

... the local specialities - beer fish. Apparently it can be cooked in several ways, ours was almost a thai style and was amazing! I would definitely have it again!!

Today was our third celebration of the trip - Alun's birthday! We have already had Ants birthday and the wedding anniversary, so we are doing well! After our meal we were all surprised by the arrival of a birthday cake - this is one thing I didn't really expect in China - the cakes are delicious! ...
