All in all it has been a quiet few weeks since dad left. However, after two more weeks of hunkering down in the library I am off to Ireland on the 27th. ... I learn about the various cultures of the United Kingdom and its surroundings, while simultaneously sharing parts of my culture (or should I say cultures) with the people I meet.
This theme is particularly salient considering the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games kicked off on Friday. The Olympics are an excellent example of nations coming together in sport to share elements of their culture, and one has only to look at the opening ceremonies to see this in action.
So we've done it, me and my girlfriend Emily have signed up to take part in a charity hitch hike from England to Croatia! We're doing it to raise money for Link, a charity that aims to provide quality education to Sub-Sahara Africa!
