Marrakesh, Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz, Morocco cariverga... of the bin! And I had some salad and some little beef kofta things I am so dreading getting ill that I have bought some hand stuff and have become obbsessed about keeping my hands clean ha ha. Ian is also driving me mad as people here are insane and they hassle the life out of you some in a nice way just to let you know you are going in the wrong direction as everyone wants you to go to the square for some reason but other just want to take you and you can ...
Marrakech, Morocco traceybelle... sweet bread with butter and jam and it was so tasty. After he gave us some maps of the place and told us all the best place to go. We are staying in a traditional Riad in the old town and its amazing. We have a mezzanine floor and a roof terrace that looks over the whole of Marrakech and the Atlas mountains in the distance. We dumped our bags and got out into the sunshine its hot again yeah. We got lost walking through all the streets there are the usual bag sellers and ...
Marrakech, Morocco traceybelle... The sultan did honor his mother, however, by building her a gorgeous mausoleum containing intricate woodwork. And, all of these tombs, including the sultan’s, are vigilantly guarded by Morocco’s numerous stray cats!

[Interestingly, a few decades after the sultan’s death in 1603, a successor sultan ordered the Saadian tombs to be walled up forever, wanting to keep his predecessors out of sight and mind. So, for more ...
Marrakech, Morocco annalisamurray... 8220;Crowded House,” “Duran Duran,” and other great 80s hits. (Maybe I should leave, rather than take, his input, eh?) Anyway. We stayed at dinner so late that when we arrived at Café du Livres, they were just closing down, so we’ve decided to go there for breakfast instead. Hopefully, the last several journal entries will be uploaded by tomorrow morning! Again, my apologies for uploading the entries in “clumps”, but Internet access is what it is...!]
Marrakech, Morocco annalisamurray... stepping daintily around a dead chèvre (goat), we found the little sucker (a micro hidden in a cubby hole in a clay/straw wall) and... I do believe Wales now has a new geoaddict! ;D

That night (alas, my last in dear Morocco!), we headed for the legendary "Djemaa el Fna" Square for a sunset ...
Marrakech, Morocco globalgirl... what we can get tomorrow. A nice place to experience in the evening is Djemaa el fna, where one can eat not so expensive (but still more than usual. hint: try to eat where locals do) by the numerous stalls that grew here during the day. Karolina is so charmed with the orient and tries some snails;). Also, there are many cafes around the square, from terraces of which one can have a nice view all over the place. Although it's now about 9 o'clock, the only place we want to be is a bed, chrrrrr.
Marrakech, Morocco mys... Marrakech. Initial feedback from the guys is positive, and I think everyone is in better spirits-especially now that the sun is shining! First stop is the beautiful Koutoubia Mosque, where take photos with the traditionally costumed water sellers and have our last group photo with all members present (the one departing early stays with the tour until just before lunch, then takes a taxi back to the hotel). Continuing on by bus we visit the Bahia Palace, a classic ...
Marrakech, Morocco wareameye... in time to catch the 07:30 train, only to find our path blocked by two guys offering us a lift. After some mild concern on our parts, they turned out to be the most pleasant of chaffeurs and companions for our journey. They treated us to breakfast en route and walked us to our chosen hotel in Rabat. When we tried to offer them some money for petrol, they waved us away. Hospitality beyond the comprehension of the average English person. Rabat itself ...
