... we wandered down from our hotel through dense banana plantations right to the waters edge. A huge variety of "protected" birds sprung up in our path and the sun glinted gently on the green water. In a selection of places dubiously smelling fluid frothed into the current. This didn't offend the birds as much as it did my environmental sensibilities.
