... further along, another blast and then as the street opens into the square, there is a flare going off, red smoke in the corner amidst all the protestors, so we quickly walk through the square, Sean taking a few snaps of the centre monument and the crowd, getting a little louder now, but seemingly peaceful enough, not to make us feel like running, quite yet. Across the square the riot police have already positioned themselves and watch and have a cigarette and talk ...

We walked past a lovely park and all! The road kept going and going, it felt like a very long walk! It was so hot by now - so we took a few rest stops to drink more water and cool down!

We eventually made it all the way around to the Amphitheatre of Pompeii. All I could think was, 'this is amazing... wait, THIS is amazing - imagine what the Colosseum will feel like!!!'

... not disappointed. Despite a central downtown location a few steps away from Gesu Nuovo church, the building was located behind a gated courtyard. Hidden away from the bustling streets, the area was quiet and perfect for a restful night's sleep.

... gave me 10 Euros to buy gelato. She shared our table with us at lunch and she said she liked kids. I bought a lemon and pistachio gelato. Again... Too die for! Dinner. I ordered an alcohol free Caesar, which I have grown to love. I had red snapper fish with vegetables and potatoes. Dessert was the best chocolate mousse love boat heart. I ate it all. ... shopping. After lunch we were ready to head back to crazy Napoli and of course my car battery was dead and my jumper cables are in my
express shipment, which I don’t have yet. So we had to walk back to the B&B and call a mechanic to drive up and jump my car. A lot of lessons were learned on this hike! But the best part is it’s only an hour away from Naples so we can go back any time.
