Pompeii-day 11

A travel blog entry by gatorfreud

... wanted to know what it was, so we told them that it was a brothel, with a bit of explanation... Karl wanted to know then what happened to all the babies.... It was a touch complicated but it was ok! And kind of funny. Anyway, we wrapped it up since the kids were hot and tired. Mark and I were super happy we went, since its something we both have always wanted to do. We walked back to the station, and stopped for slushies on the way. Kurt and karl got strawberry, and I got ...

... the funicular up to Castel San Elmo which overlooks Napoli and Mt Vesuvio. What an incredible view of Napoli, Mt Vesuvio, The Amalfi Coast and the Isle of Capri. We had a very late lunch at a restaurant next to the Castel and ate with Napoli, Mt Vesuvio and The Amalfi Coast in the background. We got back to our hotel and relaxed with a wine in the courtyard. tomorrow. I don't know what the hell happened! Haha I must have had a
dream about leaving ...

Mama Mia...Prego! The road trip begins!

... thankfully we purchased a gps was an absolute saviour! Naples was a very pretty town with some very old buildings and narrow one way roads...needless to say we went the wrong way down one, lucky it was a very quiet road. While in Naples, we needed to have a pizza as this is its birthplace. After a quick look through the town, we headed back out and south towards pompeii.
