... bumped into Edwina and Peter again and stopped to chat. They are a lovely couple, very easy to chat to. Peter is the co founder of Hotel Chocolat so that was interesting to hear about. A Bellini and a Gin Fizz later and we were feeling very relaxed with the world! Hopped back on ferry to travel to Mennagio which was pretty but a lot quieter than Bellagio. Back on ferry again (only about 10 mins each time) to visit Varenna. Shared a pizza and beer before heading ...

... at Google Maps, I noticed that there was a walking track that appeared to lead to the other side of the peninsular, so once the gelati was consumed/dropped/melted, we started the next adventure. The path was lined, on either side, with 6ft walls of green shrub/creeper which was very common around Como. Saturday Oct 4 We met our guide at 9-30am and made our way down to the Bellagio lakeside where we boarded a water taxi for our tour. Bit of a squash with 14 people; Rosa's son Nick has joined us for the rest of the trip. We motored around the Bellagio headland to the fishing village of Pescallo, very picturesque.
