Leaving Frankfurt - heading to Prague

We left Frankfurt and started on our adventure. We did a lot of driving and hit a lot of construction, but we made it to Prague by around 2:30. Along the way we saw the giant windmills used to produce electricity, as well as solar panel fields (also for electricity). We were also very happy to spot some deer in the fields, both in Germany and in the Czech Republic. I think I even saw a fox in a field....but it was pretty far away, so who knows. The border crossing into CZ ...

... the pigs knuckles my husband kept referencing before I came! After dinner I had a liqueur suggested by my English compatriot though I'm not sure what it was called. It had a nice smooth cinnamon taste to it. Delicious. I was really impressed with the food and of course the beer has been flawless. ... Instead of seeing these bones as a celebration of death, the onlooker is encouraged to recognize mankind's equality in God's eyes. I am reminded of Galatians 3:28, "There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or master, male or female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus." We left there to visit the cathedral of Santa Barbara. A majestic, soaring Gothic cathedral whose construction began in 1388!! Jim & I are amazed at what these people could build centuries ...

... was a gaggle of Japanese brides and grooms having their pictures taken with it. That was the end of our tour. We made our way to the top of the clock tower and it's open air balcony and splendid views. This was a bit crowded because the brides and grooms were there too, having their pictures taken at every possible angle. We toured the area looking for a restaurant for lunch, but all the meals were very meat and potatoes, no light fare. We finally settled on an Italian ...

... problem yet, bear with me. We toured Prag castle and stopped briefly to view St. Vitus Cathedral. Many other buildings dimly registered but the general impression is of a beautiful city nestled in lovely hills. Most buildings survived the War. The best part was walking back through the bustling parts of the inner city and then along the Vltava River. The Hilton is on the outskirts in New Town a good long walk.
