By the time we arrived back in Lucca, I had a merry band of mates to go to dinner with. We went to "buca di sant antonia which was delicious. It was inside the walls, and very fancy by their standards. I still cannot believe how cheap the meals are and how good the service is. It cost $25 for dinner,a glass of prosecco, 2 bottles of ...
... packed that you couldn't walk around the souvenir upon souvenir shops lining the walk to the Tower. In addition to the Tower there is of course a Piazza del Duomo, the Bapistry and Knights Square, all surrounded by beautifully manicured lawns.
Hugh and I decided to take a picture making it look like we were holding up the Tower, and would you believe, everyone else then followed our lead. I think this might catch on!!!

... and then back tracked through the old parts of Verona back to Piazza Bra (that’s correct - Bra) over looking the ‘Arena’ and sat down for a late …but well deserved lunch. (as well as some very cold beers and Proseccos).
We eventually made our way back to ‘Hotel Trieste’ to relax and have our showers and get ready for the big night. (NB: I have just written word number 70,000 in this ‘living the Dream’ diary).
