Today is Cinque Terre day! This involved 2 cars driving to the Lucca railway station at an early hour to catch numerous trains to end up at Monterosso [train changeovers at Viareggio & La Spezia Centrale] by 10.30am where we were jumping on the SS Minnow for a 3 hour cruise along the coast line of Cinque Terre. ... on to the good stuff!

A quick drive brought us to Lucca, a beautiful town surrounded by intact 17th century ramparts. After exploring a bit, we had a fun ride around the walls on tandem bikes. It was a sunny day, perfect for a bike ride on the tree lined path, and we had beautiful views of the city. David was in charge of taking pictures on Drew's new camera so I've included a bunch of those. We didn't have ...

... our first cooking class with Eva on Tuesday..who was running late because her machina (car) had gone pouf! E il meccanico se dice "pui olio" ( the mechanic said more oil!) Eva said I kept saying domani, domani (tomorrow, tomorrow) to attend to the oil light....but now olio e finito! Still we had a delightful lesson making zucchini in carpaccio, ricotta ravioli e spinaci con salsa di burro e salvia (spinach and ricotta ravioli with sage ...
