... them all the way across the walled city on the outside gate. Her boyfriend, Roberto, whom we had not met yet, would be there with his family car. Although this wasn’t our favourite accommodation, it was a great location to explore Tuscany for the past 3 days and having felt we had seen a nice variety of towns and scenery we were looking forward to moving on tomorrow.
... few people make as much as we do. And so far, I don't think they have the same variety or quality. Except wine. Even the cheapest red wine is good - or so we have found. John and I were the chefs tonight. I felt some pressure as I didn't have any recipes. I am just a middling cook, and I wanted it to be somewhat interesting. Class finishes at 1pm and when we push open these huge wooden doors we run smack bang into the students from the high school down the road, who also finish school to go home for lunch. There are kids everywhere and I love it. I walk with them into Lucca to get something to eat for lunch and walk back to my apartment for a quick catch up with my family on the phone or email.

Lucca was founded by the Romans, Caesar and Pompey passed by here, and Puccini was born here. It is a completely walled city. The train station is just outside the walls and our B & B is located ...
