The case sets off on its journey

... back with us.

So with many a phone call, lots of emails and around a dozen documents to print out - the case is on it's way. We now just have to hope it gets there in one piece - what are the odds of it getting there before us, and even more important before the ship sails.

So just two cases and some hand luggage left to pack, better find those socks!

Burscough to Liverpool

... was very helpful. He thought the weather was more important than the time of the tide, as high winds were forecast. Will have to monitor the situation. Hazel found Tesco. We visited the Maritime Museum and the Museum of Slavery, excellent. A meal at the Pumphouse, where the draught cider turned out to be from a bottle. We then walked a mile to the marina and Brunswick Lock. It was a lovely evening. Fri 14th August We cruised to the Marina to have our oil, oil filters and fuel ...

Home of the Beatles

... first to Llangollen in North Wales. Very cute village. Very pretty. Drove over the Horseshoe Pass. Stopped for photos at side of the road where there was a very friendly sheep! Next went to Chester and had some free time. Very quaint city. Looks 16th Century but apparrently was rebuilt in the 19th (?) Century after a fire to look as it originally had. Nice to just look at the shops. In the afternoon we headed back to Liverpool for a tour with a ...

Scouser's paradise

Scousers

For people who don't know: Scouse is the accent and dialect of English found in the city of Liverpool and also in some adjoining urban areas of Merseyside. This is particularly strong within areas of neighbouring boroughs of south Sefton and Knowsley.

When we arrived at the hotel, the tenant, a lady in her late 60's welcomed us, quite warmly, errr I think... I must say the I consider my english as quite OK, and for having spent ...

Off to a flying start

I got about ten minutes kip last night, and that was only after watching most of Eurotrip- so as you can imagine I am fairly knackered with little chance of sleep anytime soon, Liverpool airport never won awards for places to sleep- and the bar isn't open yet. My dad gave me a lift up here about 2am- hitting a rabbit on the way, unfortunate, we also saw prostitutes while driving through Stoke and I was amazed how many drivers sleep on the ...

Pre-trip jitters, quivvers and thoughts!

... wherever possible....he he...only joking Mum...and get on my travelling toes and do some exploring. Hopefully I won't have scared too many people off by then so I may have some company:-P Finally, on the last leg of my trip, I'v arranged a voluntary placement which is based in an indiginous village near Lake Titicaca. There I'll be working in a school over the Christmas and New year period, so I'll possibly be doing some lovely Christmassy things with the kids. This ...

Blackpool

John took me to Blackpool. He may have wanted to show me a UK beach resort. The street along the beach was full of decorations. I took a picture of his profile in the car. It was just a memory of Blackpool. We were on the way from Preston, where we met his old friend, and John talked about the word "love", because people there used "love" meaning "you" very often, when they talk to someone, like "Good morning, love!". That sounded awkward to him.
