... Park in downtown San Diego to watch the Padres play the LA Dodgers. It was home opener so there was lots of festivities including a street party and a tribute to the military with parachuting Navy Seals into the park. The game was sold out with 45,000 plus fans cheering "Beat L.A." over and over. It worked. San Diego won 3-1 in a great game. Definitely worth the ticket and beer and peanuts. Today was all about not doing too much...started off with an early morning run for me - to try and explore the resort a bit more and find the mysterious Vail Lake (of which there was no sign from where we were parked). Will and I got a ride into Temecula to pick up the car we were going to be using for the next few days while Jill finished setting up the RV for our longest stay in a single spot (5 nights, no less) and took ...

... and fretted that I was awake and dreading the long drive.

When I went out to put the first load in the van, I found that about 1/2 of the 2 gallon bottle of water had leaked out, soaking one of our comforters and bed mat. That pretty much solidified the need to bee-line home. We couldn’t camp in 30-40 degree temps with wet bedding and I wasn’t looking forward to pulling into a hotel with ONLY 9 hours until home.
