Rio Part 2

A travel blog entry by ellen.jermy

You can't go to Rio and not see Copacabana so why not stay there? We stayed at this awesome hostel called El Misti which I definitely recommend. Like I said before we hadn't met many English speakers when we were here before but this time it was so international. Italians, Spanish, Icelandic who all spoke amazing English putting us to shame as we know nothing but English! You'd do well to learn basic Portuguese before coming here.

Chatted about their crazy travel channel day in which they were asked to help film a segment for the show. Meet Greg from Freshfields, ...

Once we arrived, we went through immigration and customs with no problems - our only problem was finding an ATM! Luckily we figured out where in the airport ...

... appetising. Mike declined to eat, but I had a go. It was OK, but overall, Brazilian food has been a disappointment. Too much fried stuff and oily vegetables (when you get veggies). We were talking to a French Canadian guy who lives here and he reiterated the lack of good food. He said the last five years has seen a massive increase in the number of supermarkets, and thereby an increase in processed foods and thereby an increase in the health problems associated with ...
