Wayne arrives to the snow in Beijing
It was finally the date for me to fly off to Beijing to meet Wayne and share China with him. I flew on the Wednesday night and he arrived in Beijing at 6am the following morning. It was cold in Beijing and the city was covered in snow.. much to my dismay! WuHan had been cold but this was really cold. We booked into a hostel which looked like a …
Arrived in Beijing!! & Visit to forbidden city
Our last few days in Kathmandu where spent catching up on laundry, posting clothes home, eating & relaxing basically. On the 5th June we checked out of our hotel ready for the evening flight to Beijing. Throughout the day I (Charlotte) started feeling rough...the usual stomach cramps we've experienced too many times already now! Anyway we …
The 'not so' Forbidden City
Beijing was completely different to what I remembered 10 years ago. There are LCD TV screens in Tiananmen Square, very tight security screening at every subway station and also when you want to enter the Square. The amount of Chinese tourists is phenomenal as well. The Chinese are very good

Tienen diferentes tipos de trenes: unos muy rápidos y limpios, otros muy baratos. Con silla suave o dura, con cama o sin cama. Hay para todos los gustos y presupuestos. Beijing o mejor …

The highlight being the comfy seats which allowed us to doze off in and wake up in the capital only 12 hours later. As soon as we got out of the station we were hit by the hot and muggy air …

TravelPod Member ReviewsQianmen Hostel Beijing
Stayed in this hostel for a long weekend, was extremely cheap and in a fantastic location for all the main tourist sites and about a 5 minute walk to the subway line which took you everywhere in Beijing. Really nice people and extremely helpful. Great atmosphere and looks like something you would expect to see in a old style chinese movie.
Excellent!

Great location although some touristy shops nearby. Clean enough bathrooms. Most of the staff very friendly. Character of the place fits right into the hutong surroundings.
