... a blessing to see these kids and teachers be so joyful with so little. Back on the bus, our next stop is Blyde River Canyon. The only green canyon in Africa. Picture the Grand Canyon on a smaller scale but with trees growing between the rocks up the sides. But it was foggy so only a scattered glimpse fo this beautiful sight could be seen. Onwards to Kapama Lodge, our destination for the next 2 nights. For the first time we see that the sun does shine ...

... In the afternoon we went up to Blyde Canyon DAM , with it Lake and beautiful surroundings. The Weather did not cooperate and it was cool and windy and stated raining , so we went for only a short hike down to the Shore and back up to the Parking lot where we feed some Monkeys. We Drove back to Hoedspruit where checked in at not exactly the Ritz Carlton , but it will be OK for one night and it is only 200 yards from where the SX ...

Not sure about how the local geology, however somehow three rondavels (round thatched huts) seem to have been carved out of the ...

A travel blog entry by purplebuggy on Mar 06, 2010

... every now and then Rusty get's "red eyes" (literally and figuratively), this was one of those days. I was the last in line and Rusty came up wanting a fight. I smacked him but this didn't have the usual effect. He looked at me and came running - he charged me! I had to use both hands to get him away and regain my balance. This was not something I was happy about because my broken wrist caned during and afterwards. Thank god for the brace though! ...

Sightings: Kudu, Baboons, Ostrich, Red Hartebeest

Another week gone at Enkosini. It's interesting how some weeks you’re right into things and the next you just feel like a total blob and end up having a lazy week. Admittedly it didn’t help that 3 days of activities were things I couldn’t help much in because of my wrist. (A full day of walking then a camp I knew would throw it out and make it throb ...
