... above, both of which were rather awe-inspiring – this was the highlight of the day. We happened to be there as a Catholic procession took place, with choir boys singing and priests and followers. We are fairly certain it's the only time either of us have been to church on a Sunday! We had to wait a while for two people that somehow got lost (the church and cross are the only things for miles) and almost got left behind (Amy- well ...
Madrid, Madrid, Spain and Canary Islands matt_and_ames... but the undoubted show-stealer is the auditorium scan with the rotating 'Saturday Night Fever Man' gobos - no time, expense or sophistication has been spared here! The only obstacle to showbiz illumiation delirium has thus far proved to be our inability to get the same lighting cues in the desk as we have in the book. We have yet to arrive at the end together! 'Tragico' indeed... :-) Until next time...
Madrid, Madrid, Spain and Canary Islands tonymanero... The tourist activity in the place is getting more intense. The hotels, bars, nightlife place, the zoo and the museums are in fully in shaped to serve the needs of the tourist, as well as the locals. Torre Garden Madrid, hotel centro Madrid are the few hotels that assist the tourist while enjoying the beauty of the place.
Madrid, Madrid, Spain and Canary Islands antoniusestrill... it. I didn't get to bed till 5am, and I was up again at 8am to start trying to organise things. My main problem was that I had absolutely no cash at all. Nothing. Dad wired me money which helped a million, and then I headed to the Australian consulate to try and get a emergency passport. It was nice to be in a little part of Australia for a while! And the lady that helped me was lovely, she answered all my questions and arranged for my passport to be ready when I arrived in ...

... still a lot of people on the street. Of course they were all on their way home after a night out instead of on their way to work. To top it all off we passed a Starbucks that was closed at 7am. This is a crime punishable by death at home. We got on our train waiting for the sun to rise and wake us up, but by the time it was fully risen at 9am, I had fallen back asleep again. Oh well, we had a whole (long) train ride to Granada to wake up.
Madrid, Spain tmcclurg... Yesterday (Tuesday) we sat around watching TV for about 3 hrs. It was a count down of the most influential spanish personas. They love them some tv these spaniards. They eat in silence and watch them some tv. A friend of hers joined us for din din and she got shushed a couple times so that he could hear what was going on in the news. haha. I shushed her myself when they talked about "Salvador Dali". It was very spanish of me...apparently. I like her lots cuz we sit around and ...
Noche larga.
Madrid, Spain rafaeld... Hemingway. Though tempted by the sure delights of the beach, we decided to turn in a few blocks to Canyamelar. We were greatly rewarded for our choice. We rode directly to Garum, the blue-tiled restaurant that had caught my eye the day before. To our disappointment, the iron gate was drawn: the restaurant was clearly closed. We were just getting back on our bikes, when a man beckoned to us from Meson Entrepà, the restaurant directly across the street. He introduced ...
Valencia, Spain digressions... town. The Museum of Modern Art had a new exhibit in Dali which even included some commercials he had done. I never realized what a corporate shill Dali was until I saw him in a chocolate commercial where his mustache quivered as he ate some chocolate. We spent a few days seeing the sights that Madrid has to offer, those being museums. Madrid has an amazing modern art museum and for pure extravagance ...
