Despite what the good book says, all the breweries appear to
be shut Sundays, or at least over Xmas & New Year, when most of the city
appears to have closed up and gone away. The empty streets are a pleasant
change but as I’m only here for the beer, a disappointment!

      Still the cash ...

... leaving your bag for the conductor to check out the back door and
leave unguarded on the pavement – not impressed!!

Took the first place at 80 a night as it had a fan (to dry
the washing as much as it cool me) which the downpour soon did after my

... Shame about the big oyster farm blotting the landscape. Still drizzling and after 9km of walking, decided to seek lunch – at over 4 just for a plate of chips, stuck with a beer.

Surprisingly there were actually buses today but, as ever, no-one knew the times so decided to head to a major junction and try and hitch. After a 20 min walk, then a 15 min fruitless attempt to hitch, returned to the bus stop where some kind local lads stopped and took ...

That reminds me, I must remember never to put "Brazilian" into an internet search – whatever other qualifiers you use, it still produces pictures of pubic haircuts!

On a heavier note, another tough morning - having trolled all the way to the tourist office in Bombas to find it shut (I have vowed not to bother with them in future!) I returned to hunt down a coffee shop with wifi – no chance or a bank or ATM for that matter – ...
