Despite what the good book says, all the breweries appear to
be shut Sundays, or at least over Xmas & New Year, when most of the city
appears to have closed up and gone away. The empty streets are a pleasant
change but as I’m only here for the beer, a disappointment!

Took the first place at 80 a night as it had a fan (to dry
the washing as much as it cool me) which the downpour soon did after my
abbreviated foray into the city. The streets were dead anyway as the majority

... as an eco island, though on the way to the several bars & restaurants, you can hear both the music and the generator thumping away. Overpriced (despite me negotiating a 30% discount) walk to see some indistinct petroglyphs and a view of nothing. Did see a couple of iguanas & a snake quickly slithered from the path – all the reptiles, like me, are out sunbathing today after all the rainy days.

... Shame about the big oyster farm blotting the landscape. Still drizzling and after 9km of walking, decided to seek lunch – at over £4 just for a plate of chips, stuck with a beer.

On a heavier note, another tough morning - having trolled all the way to the tourist office in Bombas to find it shut (I have vowed not to bother with them in future!) I returned to hunt down a coffee shop with wifi – no chance or a bank or ATM for that matter – ...
