After the madness of carnaval, Nadja and I were desperate to escape the city for some much needed R&R and detoxing. So we headed to Arraial Do Cabo, about 3 hours from Rio, to a small homely hostel, which is the 'Rehab' to the crazy party hostel (Books Hostel) that we had spent a lot of time in in Rio. No photos I'm afraid as we were frankly quite boring for these days, but some details below... We only spent 3 nights there but it was the ...

... Devil's Throat on the Argentinian side of the falls was the most impressive part. The Devil's Throat is the heaviest section of the waterfall, and at the Argentinian lookout, on top of the waterfall, you are able to watch as unbelievable amounts of water pass over the cliff-edge. On the fourth day here after a week with Maudie and Pete we said our fairwells and headed off to our next destination. It had been an awesome first week in Brazil and an awesome time with them both. We could very easily have stayed longer, but we decided to keep moving to go see what else Brazil had to ...

... up there and everything. But we found out a few weeks ago that its not even the biggest one in the world! There is a Jesus statue in Cochabamba, Bolivia which is 33m high and the one in Rio is only 30m high. So that was a little disapointing because when I was looking at the one in Rio I was thinking "man the one in Cochabamba must be massive". WeŽre not to sure what weŽre going to be doing for the next 2 weeks though. But weŽll keep you all posted. see you guys in a month! ...

... headed to the eat all you can barbecue which had been highly recommended by everyone in the hostel. Was amazing....a monstrous eat all you can buffet...with everything you could imagine including sushi...and then the best bit was they came round to the table with huge sticks of meat....like huge joints of beef and carved you off huge chunks of succulent, mouth-watering meat...and it just kept coming. Oh yeah and it cost like Ł3.50....we did have to pay nearly that much for a drink to ...
