    Boat trip

A travel blog entry by hils80 on May 16, 2015

Up and had breakfast and people in hostel doing boat trip so went with mady French guy to book it. Couldn't get on same one as Petrina but between 3 of us (Michelle from New York) we got it for 60 instead of 70. Guide, if you can call him that, was rubbish! He didn't speak, not even to tell us where we were stopping! Was nice to be on a speedboat. 3 Brazilians, 2 girls with the tiniest bikinis on and guy in tightest pants. Michelle ...

Ille Grande appeared majestically, cloud wraithed and shadowy out of the ocean looking like something out of "LOST." We got off the boat in Abraao the islands small town and I instantly fell in love with it. It is just so laid back and peaceful a complete contrast to the madness of Rio. There are no roads, no ATMs and only intermittent WI FI hallelujah! Bella thinks her right arm has been cut off! We trekked along ...

... trek through the jungle to...yep, a beach. The last few weeks have been pretty heavy in these type of treks, much to my delight. The destination this time was Lopes Mendes beach. Boats aren't allowed into the bay, so that, teamed with the few miles of distance from any civilisation really make it one of the most unspoiled we've been to yet. We spent a few hours doing the usual beach **** - splashing, lying about - before cheating a bit and taking a taxi boat back ...

    Boat Trip

A travel blog entry by gavin_davies on Sep 22, 2014

I had a pretty poor sleep constantly waking up and some weird dreams. In one I had to make emergency plans to go home because I had some undisclosed life threatening issue. Another was about the zombie apocolypse. Standard. I woke up in time for a hearty breakfast and more importantly to be greeted by sunshine! Woo hoo. The plan for the day is a boat trip and we five (Ed, Sam, Rach, Viv and I) along withe Andy headed off. Andy Viv did some travelling with previously. He's pretty ...

This morning was spent wandering around Paraty, doing a bit of shopping and generally relaxing! I bought some havaianas, which of course you have to do while in Brazil as they are attraction of the price at home!! Mine are blue with cupcakes on and I customised them with a sparkly Brazilian flag and a sparkly turtle, so they are now one of a kind! After picking I pour laundry and finishing packing, we ...
