Worth every cent of my $15/night

First of all, yes, the view IS popular. Try to book a room with a view. I suppose there are 9 of them. It's really breathtaking because unlike Domon Guesthouse or any others along the same street, this one doesn't have any construction of disturbing distractions outside your balcony. And it's quite away from the Rocket Bar so it's not noisy at all!!

Everything in the room was clean. Superb. The bed was comfy and the aircon worked alright. Only the TV had a slight problem because there was no interesting English channel. But hey, with all the partying nobody has time to watch TV. The bathroom had the, in my opinion, purest cool water you can ever get and you feel like taking a shower every now and then.

The reception/owner Mr. Vieng is OK, friendly but can be a bit "blur" at times.

The complimentary breakfast consists of baguette, omelette/fried egg, and coffee/tea. In my opinion it was a little too oily but that's just how they cook it. The coffee/tea is free all the time. And they provide mineral water dispenser too. Get a bottle and you'll save thousands (of kips).

You can't get internet in the bedrooms. The common area has books that you can read. The surrounding shops are good/ok as well. All you need is just a few seconds walking distance. ;) I was alone and although I didn't meet anyone, I had the most incredible Me-Time in Vang Vieng. :)

Super close to all the bars & all the tubing you would want to do - plus, the rooms are actually quite nice! I would definitely recommend it to anyone heading there!

... as we had had the night before but was large with A/C and fan, as well as shower (luke warm) and complimentary drinking water. We went to explore the swimming pool on the second floor which turned out to be fantastic as it overlooked the river and was long enough to swim lengths. We opted for sitting in the hammocks as we didn't have long until we were going out for our evening meal.

Food was at a place called River Spirit (again overlooking ...

... mountains look like looming shadows over the town. While we are here a storm rolls in. Lightning and heavy rain last for hours. After drinking beers and eating 2 pizzas (score!) We decide we will have to take a tuk tuk the short distance back. We don't haggle a price before getting in and we pay for that mistake. He totally rips us off. It's only $6.25 though. Consider it a donation. I'm going to have a lot of tax write-offs after this trip and all my ...

... I'm actually here and that this is really my life. The past few days of motorcycling through the hills and scenic city, exploring through unbelievable caves, hiking through mountains, and floating along a river lined with bars full of young people from all over the world, it has been some of the best few days I've had in a long time. Vang Vieng is not only one of the most beautiful places I've been on this ...
