We did it... we found the most beautiful place on earth. Ok, so maybe the Hawaiians were the first to discover it, and maybe Captain Cook was second... but anyway, never before have we've seen such beauty in such a little time span.

Before coming to Kauai, after discussions with our friend Kathy, we knew were in for a real treat. Further research into the world famous Kalalau trail, and the Waimea canyon continued to build our excitement to come ...

... s Bath, where the surf pounds the rocks and where 29 people have drowned, mostly by being swept off the a ledge high above the surf by the occasional rogue wave. We stayed back from the edge, but more importantly kept an eye out on the incoming waves.

... and wind and weather! The sails went up for half an hour allowing us to take pictures and just relax. Then we headed back down the coast to our snorkel spot. Yes I went coral to speak of but quite a few fish...mostly black and blue and spotted brown...but was lovely to cool off! ... we were looking at the conifers, Derek saw a little trail up the hill, so he went up and saw that there were some pretty flowers across the road, down a dirt road that went to the YWCA Camp. The flowers he saw were wild Fuschias which are scarlet. We started walking down the road finding more flowers and looking for birds.
