... The rest of us are fine as we have been sitting under the shade of Palm trees and messing about in the sea close to shore. The highlight of the day though was Ethan's excitement at having a go at surfing. Andy took him out in the shallows and Ethan practised getting on the board and standing up and then Andy pushed him to give him momentum through the water. Lots of falling in, ...

... for the Hanalei River. SUPs are like surf boards, yet thicker and longer. You stand on it and paddle with an oar. We all got the hang of it pretty quickly. No one fell in the water. Spent the day doing some swimming at Anini Beach part. This is a beach that consists of a large lagoon which is ideal for snorkeling. The bay is protected by a long reef so the lagoon is very calm. We spent a couple hours at the beach. Then we headed back to the condo and spent an hour in the pool.

Attached is a picture of the beach.

... literally bumper to bumper, stop and go, traffic that took us about an hour to travel 10 miles. According to the local newspaper, folks who live in that vicinity say they simply don't go out between 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m due to that traffic. Wish we'd had a choice.... A quick stop in Lihue at Costco netted us some steak to cook for supper, our second use of the excellent outdoor gas grilling facilities at the condos.

... really enjoying myself and I'm in and out of the water too. I was asked by the staff to judge the Hottest legs competition. It started at 2.30 pm so I said yeh. Andrew didn't want to go in it. It thought he would have done well. There was four of us girls on stage and the whole ship was packed to the gunnels in all decks watching. The guys had three pass by's to convince us to score hight. We had score cards from 1-5. We had a ball and so did they. We were ...
