... The river was really neat to see, as were the houses. The view up from the valley floor was incredible as well. This was a quick little part of our day, but worth mentioning!

The other thing I forgot was the scariest part of our trip. That's only because I'm terrified of heights, Jonathan was fine. We climbed the tower of the town hall building to get the view at the top. I guess I didn't really know what we were getting ourselves into, but maybe the fact that only ...

... I was able to sneak a few in before I saw that sign. The biggest room was about three stories high with a massive Christmas tree covered in over 1000 glass bulb ornaments. Even the ceiling was covered in Christmas decorations!

... the moonlit sky. Pictures couldn't do it justice, since we didn't bring a tripod on this trip. What a night! We window-shopped our way back down our street--the safest way to shop since the stores are all closed. We had a beer in a little street cafe, and came back to our hotel via the alley: the front door closes at 9 pm, and our key opens the back door to the courtyard. And now it is time for bed! We regret that we only had this one day in Rothenburg. ...

Karlovy Vary

... unique temperature and mineral content, even though they all come from the same original source. The town is located in a large valley, surrounded by a beautiful forest popular with Czech, German and Russian hunters. Right in the middle of this beautiful, quaint town is a monstrosity of a building built in 1972- no surprise, it's a basic communist style building- UGLY. The only thing I could think of was the story of Guy de ...
