... I was feeling a bit better we went on the hunt for a local grill restaurant. The hostel manager, who had steered us well yesterday, suggested we try the Traveller's Hostel, as they have a restaurant built in with grill type foods, but when we got there we were more interested in the menu of the place across the street. Today, Krumlov is a popular tourist town and the Czech people come to holiday and take rafts and small boats down the river during summer. We watched the parade of paddlers of which there were hundreds, many enjoying a pub crawl or boozy lunch along the way as they visit many pubs and drink much beer.

... then as we came around a bend a break in the trees allowed us to see a huge wind turbine turning slowly in the breeze. I hit the button on the handlebars that activates the camera, but unfortunately when I reviewed the footage the camera was automatically adjusting the white balance for the road which was darkened by the surrounding trees, so the light streaming through the break in the trees just showed up as white on the recording, the turbine wasn't visible. ... with our rowing and go straight. Up ahead we could see a guy operating an earth mover on the side of the river bank. As we approached him we all yelled out hello in Czech. He smiled, grinned and then started swinging the digging part of the machine around towards us as we went by. To my horror he scooped us up with the tray and pushed us along in the water. I was sure we were going to tip over but we made it out alive!!! Europeans are damn crazy!!!

... along the way, and as we headed up the top there was a steep climb up to the castle gardens. There was a section of very neat manicured hedges, and further up was a revolving amphitheater. I don't know what they use it for, but it was a giant viewing stand on a big concrete circle, which I assume spins around. Maybe it's used for garden plays?
