Today we visited the UNESCO town of Telc. Pronounced Telch like belch. Un untouched 16th. century town.

Had a limited castle tour as they are filming the movie "Emperor". Barbara auditioned for a solo and got the part!! Only problem, we can't be here for the rest of the filming.

We arrived back in town, had lunch, and went to find the synagogue in town. The building was open, so we went in, and found a lovey sanctuary and a little museum which gave the history of the family who started the synagogue. The museum was small, but very engaging and informative. Now the building is used for concerts.

... they were related to a noble Italian Orsini family. Orsini = ursa = bear. So they got 3 bears as a sign of nobility. However, they learned later that it was not so. We learned that the Czech Republic is number one in the world for beer drinking!
