... down the Vltava river. The river was gentle, fast flowing and lined by the most spectacular pine and oak trees. I cannot describe how beautiful it was down the a post card of the Canadian Rockies perhaps. ... our hotel we stopped for a beer and garlic chips on the side of the cliff above the river with the Cloak bridge and tower before us. A perfect way to end the day.

There really aren’t that many sights to visit as such in CK. The whole town is like a museum in itself! Of course you can’t miss the castle, but apart from that, we were content with just walking around, relaxing on or by the river, and enjoying the wonderful vistas and laid back atmosphere of this fairy tale ...

... a guy pulled up in a van with a raft on the roof, we all hopped in and he drove us to the starting point.

The guy pulled the boat off the roof, dumped the oars and life vests and sped off without even muttering a word. One by one we hopped into the raft and then tried to push off the bank out into the stream but the water was far too shallow and we were stuck. Adam nominated himself to jump in and push us off and away we went.

... square and castle right in the middle. Bit daunting getting notes out of the money machine with 1000 on them. $100 NZ dollars are 1600 Czech korunas.. Freaky giving a 1000 notes for our room but actually was less than $ 100 -so very reasonable for 2 nights.
