Oh dear. We had no idea our travels in our "shuttle" would be in a compact car over a mountain road in the snow. It was only snowing lightly but our surroundings were a wonder winter land. Jimmy. After a typical Czech breakfast (bread followed later by meats and cheeses) and headed out to see Ottokar Square in Cesky Budweis in daylight. There were numerous timber crosses erected in the Square at various angles to the vertical to recognise Easter and Sampson Fountain was a magnificent site dominating the space of the Square. After leaving Cesky Krumlov in the morning I had wanted to get a bus on to Olomouc and had planned to get a ticket in Cesky Budejovice. When I arrived in C.B all the bus ticket office were closed. All of the online tickets were also sold out for that day.

Next up was a raft trip down the river. There were three weirs on the route, and each one had a special chute for rafts and kayaks. As it turned out, the storm that nearly turned our peaceful meander down the river into a reenactment of "A Perfect Storm" was content to linger over Cesky Krumlov for the rest of the day.
