... it sounded cool and we wanted to see it.

We thought Görlitz would be about 1 1/2 hours away, but it was really more like 3 hours, as there was a lot of construction and re-routing along the way.

By 2:00 p.m. we were all getting hungry and we had already passed a McDonald's. But that's about all that we passed, other than loads of forests and farms. Not a lot of towns between Berlin and Görlitz, evidently.

... what kind of tree we had been parked under but the car was covered in an incredibly sticky sap. No doubt made worse from the storm.
We arrived around 12, once again noticing so many turbine windmills along the way. There have been some parts of Europe where we've been amazed at how many there are in a concentrated area.

... her as she was also going to Görlitz. Long story short, Jessica was an accountant about to become a travel agent and we spend a wonderful time talking about our travels and getting tips from her. We stayed at a lovely boutique hotel "Der Romantik Tuckmacher", wandered through the city and ..... cemetaries trying to find any lead to no avail.

... to expand it as it filled, so they would add more soil and bury the next layer. In the end, it is 10-layers deep and the result is a higgledy-piggledy array of tombstones. Sadly, Nick discovered that his camera continues to have a fault – it seems that when he is in an interesting location where photos are not permitted, his camera just goes off and takes photos on it’s own. We must definitely get that fixed!

Only update were I'm now.
Cut my day a bit short yesterday, because of bad weather. Stopped just short of Goerliz.
120 km, through wet and slippery bikeways, crossing the "Saxon Schweiz", very challenging!
