The end of the tour
Time for another mega entry! Photos will come in due time. I am up to Berlin. I won't have as much to write about Berlin and Amsterdam, as I have already been to both places for a few days each, so I did most of the touristy things then. On our way to Berlin we stopped at a park that has a statue dedicated to all the Soviets who lost their lives fighting in Berlin, and it is one of the few (or even the only) public monuments in Germany that features a Swastika.

The next day, we walked around the waterfront that had been all renovated for the Olympics. They have even imported sand from Egypt for the beaches. We ended our time in Barcelona with a meal of Paelle, a rice and seafood dish with one of the main ingredients being saffron in a street side restaurant. ... Antoni Gaudi, the architect, until last year. Reid used to talk about Gaudi because Gaudi is his favorite architect. He did explain to me that Gaudi was known for his use of natural elements in his architecture.
