... work fot the minimum salary. The price of hotel rooms being what it is ( up to 4 000$ per night) someone is surely loading his or her wallet. Two major social problems plague this island: alcoholism and drugs. The problems are amplified by the fact that there are no services or organization to help the victims. The AA would have alot of work here. I carry on, admiring and even raving over the beaty of the sea. Tomorrow it's back to Tahiti and the last day in French ...

... everyone throughout the tour. Our first destination was the inner reef where we were going to swim with stingrays and reef sharks. Yes, sharks! Images of Steve Irwin and his untimely death flashed through our minds but the stingrays simply swam around us and if we didn't bother them they didn't bother us. The next day I found myself hiring a bike and cycling around the island, which being 9km did not take too long but there were lots of places to stop for views. I also had a pit stop at Chez Mimi on the beach, only one of two restaurants in the island and it's really a beach shack anyway! Perfect! ( t_Review-g677687-d6636203-Reviews-Snack ...

Sailed from Bora Bora to Maupiti and just as were coming up to the lagoon entrance we spotted whales breaching. Some got off the boat hoping to swim with them. A cat and mouse game happened and then we sailed into the lagoon. Moored and had yummy lunch. 4 of us went onto the island and saw the stone carvings. Then found a really unusual house that had been created with coral and shells and met a very unusual ...
