... or vice versa, or you could just choose one section of it for a lesser but no less thrilling challenge. In the east Tirol there is the shorter Eagle Trail, a 60 mile route that runs beneath the highest mountain in the country, the Grossglockner. The nine stages of this route also offer amazing views.

Breakfast at the guest house was simple buy delicious, bread rolls, cold meat, cheese, good coffee. There were a number of Japanese and Chinese staying at the gust house, I think we were the only European. Going to the lake we caught the bus, as we had the Berchtesgaden card it was free. This meant walking to the train station which was only 550 ...

Gasthaus Alpina: A gloomy, rainy, cold day, our first since leaving Amsterdam. Just as well as it was going to a funny day of traveling. There are a number of factors: 1. I suggested Berchestgaden because of ' Eagles Nest' and it is supposed to be a picturesque spot. 2. I knew we could get there from Innsbruck via Salzburg and by going back into Germany to Freilssang (just not the way we ended up going). 3. We ...
