Big rays, big sharks, big lagoon, big dongas

... lagoon, then out through the reef past Motu Tapu where we’d eaten the night before. A couple of lunatics had come out here in a speed boat to surf the reef break. It would only have been a metre or so. Shaq said they are out here when it’s three metres as well. Ouch!

We tied up to another mooring maybe 100 metres from the reef to see the black tip reef and lemon sharks. We’d read, and been told by Shaq, that the lemon sharks ...

Bora Bora - Day 4 - Lounging

(Angela) There was a little cloud cover today which is a huge relief, full sun is just too hot even to be in for a short while. Angela who is normally averse to water in all forms has really got stuck in today and we have had a lovely time swimming in the lagoon. I did briefly see a shark this morning but so far the Jaws theme tune has not been heard. There is a water fountain in the spa which we were encouraged to ...

Bora Bora - Day 1 - An amazing dot in the Pacific

... has a glass top with a view of the water underneath. Snake was delighted to see they had even catered to his needs and left a Toblerone in the mini bar. When we had recovered from the 'have we died and gone to heaven' bit we explored the rest of the hotel's facilities. Three restaurants, a beach area with many different ways to lounge (Snake's favourite being the hammock), a swimming pool and a lagoon snorkeling area with lots of fishes and other ...
