After Trier, we had an easy time riding the train...then a boat down the the Mosel, then down the Rhine to Bacharach. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking, but we are still very relaxed, entertained, and loving the food and weather.

... 1 was so angry that he had a wall built between their castles so that he would not see or hear from him again. Time slowly marched on and brother #2's wife ran off with his best friend. The man was so distraught that he threw himself off of his castle wall to the rocks below. Sad ending to a sad story. Following the commentary, we went to the lounge where we were told how to make Rudesheimer Kaffee, coffee, brandy, sugar, whipped cream and dark chocolate...YUM?? Not for ...

... put the car in gear, while we were in the middle of heavy traffic. We weren't far from home, so we had to get out and push. We were thankful when a man came to the rescue and helped us, as we were going uphill. A good way to work of the dinner??? Erika then managed to get the car in gear and we limped home into their garage.

... they had their first date, before going back to their apartment to meet the rest of the family.

In the afternoon we had coffee and German cakes with Katherina's parents, Stephan and Sabine. Later that evening more family joined us; Bridgette and Frank and their children, Charlie and Thomas. We enjoyed a dinner of German sausages and salads, and talked about a broad range of topics from family, to computer games to politics. We also tried to interpret the German conversation. ...
