... There is also a yacht club, but not many were out today. Swimming isn't allowed. The reservoir covers a surface area of 72 acres, and holds 204.6 million gallons.
We returned home for me to do washing, Sue finish mowing lawn etc.
Just as we were considering the evening meal Vanessa, next door neighbour came and invited us to enjoy a drink with her and husband Martin in their back garden, which we did, then returned home for our meal.

Fancy a round? Yes. (Golf and/or drinks).

Today's CWW is about 27 km my greatest distance yet. It has a 7.5 loop hence the next few photos which are of exactly the same thing (Winchcombe church and Sudley Castle) but taken from vantage points really close to each other but separated by a 2 hour walk!

Hidcote & Warwick Castle

... on tours (an extra 9 quid each to visit the dungeons!) etc etc. All that said still a fantastic castle - and a big hit with the kids. Hidcote and Warwick were short drives from Stratford hence the 2 nights here. Longer drives tomorrow though - through the Cotswolds down to Bath, and then after a few hours there we'll make our way back to Whitchurch. Maybe Stonehenge if time (and Laura's temperament ) ...

... Truly fascinating. After that, they took us to their lovely house in Carlisle from whence we walked to the Cathedral and other places of interest. Essentially we were planning for a longer visit to Carlisle the next day. Top of this list was a visit to the City Centre, The Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery and then Carlisle Castle.
