Some of the elephants have awful injuries, broken legs and hips which have healed in awkward positions causing them disability, a couple are blind and a few have broken backs where they have been used for tourists to ride on but incorrectly (people riding elephants should sit on their neck and not across their backs). ... thatched beach bungalow on their website - but No 6 in a terrace of rooms. It is very nice though, clean and comfy. It is now 7.30. We left Jamie's at 10 this morning so we have been on the road for over 11 hours and now we could eat an elephant (not really :0) as we've not eaten since breakfast this morning. We order far too much at an Indian veggie place across the road but still somehow manage to clear all the plates. By 9.30 we're in bed and soon snoring.

... Both times with natives and strangers. Both times have been nothing short of a sloppy good time. There is a sort of comradery that comes about with food, drink, music and the mentality of enjoyment with your current environment. When I look at these times I laugh to myself about the relationships that are built in the struggle to be socially accepted, this mentality lost to a bottle.
