... Franschhoek, a lovey little town with nice shops and lovely restaurants. Definately a place id like to come back to. We arrived in Stellenbosch and checked in. Ryan and I went and did a reccy to find a place to book for dinner. The town was busy and so were the restaurants so we booked an Indian . After a lovely meal Graeme and Yvonne headed back to the hotel. Ryan and I went to find some nightlife. We spotted a bar that looked ...

We retraced our steps back to the park today and manged to avoid the temptation of the bird hides and headed for the Atlantic Coast. We still had to run the gauntlet of tortoises, lizards, birds, bugs, snakes, deer etc as we made our way along. How anyone manages a speed over 20 mph in this place without slaughtering a ton of wildlife is a mystery to me!
    The coast was wild ...

We lazed around a bit this morning and had a very decent but late breakfast. We didn't get into the park until after 11am. We did the usual thing of avoiding roadside tortoises - the novelty still hasn't worn off!
The views of the lagoon were stunning, we were lucky it was such a glorious day.
First stop, the bird hide overlooking the lagoon. No end of waders and flamingos and gulls and terns and swallows. ......We stayed there for ...

An early appointment at the spa this morning for a much needed manicure before loading up the car and heading off.
First stop, Kirstenbosch botanical gardens in Cape Town. What a fabulous place! We had intended staying here 2 hours tops but it was 4 hours before we could drag ourselves out! I had wanted to drive past Sahara Park (Newlands) on our way north just to have my photo taken outside but we got a bit lost so had to bin that and get on the motorway. I'll come ...

... camping space, many picnic spots and walking trails. After a few hours there we are hungry and decide to eat in Paternoster – a real Sunday afternoon treat at a little red shack on the beach. From there we drive to Saldanha and then Langebaan and lastly trough the West Coast National Park with wonderful bird hides and wild flowers ...
