... houses that were run down and wind worn were perfect to their backdrop. When we arrived in Perce we stopped of course to visit the famous Perce Rock. I suppose it’s like Canada’s Uluru. It looks strong and cold and harsh against the town’s high grass and cliffs. It was beautiful to look at and be in awe of what nature creates. This was our last real stop in Quebec. After we drove into New Brunswick and said goodbye to our home ...

... road and managed to make our hotel while it was still light out, an unusual occurrence on this trip. after getting settled in at Le Macareux, we went across the street for dinner and had some good seafood (scallops for me and a seafood puff pastry pie for Bill). Then back to the room to plot out tomorrow's ride and do a little pre-packing so we can get on the road a little ...

Woke up early this morning to beautiful sunshine. Kerry and I planned to do the 1.8 km hike up to the observation tower at the top of the cliffs. Even though we were up by 7:45 we didn't actually start our hike until 9:15. The first .6 kms of the hike was all uphill on some very shaky, shale lined path. Then the next 1.2 kms was a combination of stairs and just uphill climbing. There were 7 sections with stairs. The numbers listed are the number of ...

      Exploring Forillon National Park

A travel blog entry by kkgreen on Aug 09, 2014

Woke up to a rainy day in paradise :(. First order of business was a bacon and boiled egg breakfast and planning session for the day. It was decided that today would be a good laundry day and to see if we could do some mackerel fishing off the wharf on the south side (we are camped on the north side). While our laundry was washing and drying we tried to have our picnic lunch, between raindrops. Then we headed to the wharf. There was a neat house, the Hyman ...
