After a great night under the stars we drove along the Gaspe coastline. It's a beautiful drive filled with cliffs and crashing ocean waves. We passed a few Westys along the way and stopped at some nice roadside lookouts to enjoy the air. Right before Gaspe we explored Parc National du Forillon. We took a 5km hike up to a wonderful lookout that showed us the town of Gaspe coastline. We did some yoga at the lookout to stretch our muscles and enjoy the ...

... road and managed to make our hotel while it was still light out, an unusual occurrence on this trip. after getting settled in at Le Macareux, we went across the street for dinner and had some good seafood (scallops for me and a seafood puff pastry pie for Bill). Then back to the room to plot out tomorrow's ride and do a little pre-packing so we can get on the road a little ...

Once we parked, we checked out the Perce rock lookout but we couldn't quite see the hole in the rock. We had to venture to the wharf to get a better ...

Woke up early this morning to beautiful sunshine. Kerry and I planned to do the 1.8 km hike up to the observation tower at the top of the cliffs. Even though we were up by 7:45 we didn't actually start our hike until 9:15. The first .6 kms of the hike was all uphill on some very shaky, shale lined path. Then the next 1.2 kms was a combination of stairs and just uphill climbing. There were 7 sections with stairs. The numbers listed are the number of ...

... that was an exhibit about life of the peoples that lived along the Gulf of St. Laurent - very interesting. Then it was fishing time-there were already lots of people on the wharf reeling in lots of mackerel. Kerry got to throw the line in first and after only about 10 casts he came up with a 12 inch fish! Holy mackerel!! :). Soon after Jim got one and then Kerry and Jim caught one at the same time. What excitement. Kerry let me use his rod and I thought I ...
