Today it's cool a grey again but the rain has stopped for a bit so it was time to go to Percé. My family is from that area and I hoped to see aunt Winifred ( she was married to my mother's brother Elmer). They had 15 children -10 of them live on they same street in the Ste George Malbaie area, 25 mins from the rock. We had a nice time in Percé, a great seafood lunch at a ...

... After a short and scenic walk we could hear increasingly more and more sounds of birds, and see many soaring overhead. The sound grew louder and louder (so did the unpleasant odor) until we saw a sight none of us will forget – the second largest colony of Gannets in the world. It was a miserable day, but that didn't matter. This place is heaven! They ...

... road and managed to make our hotel while it was still light out, an unusual occurrence on this trip. after getting settled in at Le Macareux, we went across the street for dinner and had some good seafood (scallops for me and a seafood puff pastry pie for Bill). Then back to the room to plot out tomorrow's ride and do a little pre-packing so we can get on the road a little ...

    On the road again....

Pulling up stakes time again, off towards Perce. With a quick pitstop in Gaspe at the Tim Hortons to finally upload our travel blog and say hello to the girls. Other than the beautiful scenery and some exciting mountain roads (17% downward grade, the highest yet), the trip to Perce was uneventful. Once we parked, we checked out the Perce rock lookout but we couldn't quite see the hole in the rock. We had to venture to the wharf to get a better ...
